To this Raptor’s dismay, this isn’t the first time we’ve seen a Ford Performance vehicle being marked up for more than six figured by a dealership. Since the 2015-plus Shelby GT350 Mustang came about, we’ve seen dealerships across the nation charging nearly three times what these cars MSRP for – so it’s no surprise that a performance truck like the all-new 2017 Ford F-150 Raptor wouldn’t suffer a similar unfortunate fate.

For this example, finished in its Shadow Black exterior hue, Gosch Ford Temecula is asking more than twice the MSRP for an entry level F-150 Raptor ($48,860 without destination). Don’t get us wrong – the 2017 F-150 Raptor is a fantastic truck. We’ve had the opportunity to drive one, and without a doubt, it’s a performance truck capable for everyday duties. But for all intents and purposes, this particular Raptor has a window sticker of $70,020.

This begs the questions – is a brand new Raptor worth nearly six figures? Well, that’s really up to you to decide. With that said, we’ll add that most of us who want a car (or truck) like this are aware that we’ll need to save enough money to afford one in most cases. And, if we’re planning to save a certain amount of money, only to find out that the amount what we’ve been saving all along will now need to be doubled – or even tripled – in order to afford our dream car, where does that leave us?

To be clear, dealerships do have the right to charge any amount of money for any vehicle on its lot. And eventually, we’re sure someone will purchase this Raptor. Maybe not for its current list price – or maybe they will – only time will tell.
