Drop The Top: 2018 Mustang Convertible Revealed

From the moment the 2018 Mustang broke cover earlier this week, people have wondered what the car would look like as a convertible. Renderings immediately hit the Internet to imagine what the restyled pony car might look like as a droptop. Well, wonder no more as today Ford officially released photos of the 2018 Mustang convertible.

Today Ford revealed the convertible version of the 2018 Mustang, and this example’s wheel design is pretty aggressive.

“…Ford’s most advanced Mustang ever delivers a host of improvements, including new technology and design changes that give owners more ways than ever to customize the car to their preferences,” says the company. “There are three new paint colors, 12 distinct wheel choices and a customizable digital instrument cluster. More powerful engines and new MagneRide suspension technology provide even better performance.”

We don’t know about you, but we are ready to drop the top and take one for a ride.

If one of your preferences is cruising with the top down, that is now part of the forthcoming Mustang’s repertoire. You can order a convertible in EcoBoost or GT form with either a six-speed manual trans or a 10-speed automatic, but either way it should be a blast to drive on a on a sunny day.

Those hoping to get a look at the car before it goes on sale in the fall are in luck, however, as the 2018 Mustang coupe and convertible are set to take a tour of 50 regional auto shows around North America leading up to their arrival in dealerships. That means, they probably coming to a town near you, so you can judge the new styling for yourself.
