From launching a global Mustang to creating a new Ford GT that won Le Mans in just over a year, Raj Nair was at the center of it all as one of Ford’s most ardent supporters of performance. His accomplishments seemed to set the stage for an even longer career with the Blue Oval. However, suddenly on Wednesday February 21, he left the company as a result of “inappropriate behavior.”

“We made this decision after a thorough review and careful consideration,” Ford President and CEO Jim Hackett said. “Ford is deeply committed to providing and nurturing a safe and respectful culture and we expect our leaders to fully uphold these values.”

After 31 years at Ford Motor Company, Raj Nair left the company as the result of an investigation revealing that some of his behavior was “inconsistent with the company’s code of conduct.”

After an internal investigation into reports of inappropriate behavior, the company determined that some of its former executive vice president’s actions were not in line with Ford’s code of conduct.

“I sincerely regret that there have been instances where I have not exhibited leadership behaviors consistent with the principles that the Company and I have always espoused,” Raj said. “I continue to have the utmost faith in the people of Ford Motor Company and wish them continued success in the future.”

Ford expects to name a replacement soon.
