Shelby To Debut Two New Vehicles At The Carroll Shelby Tribute Show

Shelby American is set to unveil not one, but two vehicles as part of its fifth annual Carroll Shelby Tribute and Car Show this weekend.

On the fifth anniversary of Carroll Shelby’s passing, the company that continues his legacy is hosting the annual Carroll Shelby Tribute and Car Show at Carroll Shelby International headquarters in Gardena, California, on May 20th. At that show, the public will get its first look at not one, but two new Shelby American vehicles, which will be previewed to the media a couple days before the show.

The media invitation teases, “Make history. Then repeat it,” and includes what appears to be a modern Mustang under a cover, which certainly suggests the reboot of a historic Shelby nameplate in modern form, but the show announcement promises the unveiling of “a pair of new vehicles,” which enhances the intrigue.

“During the past five decades, Shelby American has launched many exciting vehicles at major auto shows and international venues,” said Joe Conway, Co-CEO of Carroll Shelby International, CEO of Shelby American and Board member of the Carroll Shelby Foundation. “This year, we wanted to show our appreciation for the most ardent Shelby fans by introducing two new vehicles at the Tribute event. Carroll Shelby would’ve been pleased that we’re giving fans the opportunity to see them first.”

If you want to get a look at them in person while celebrating the man’s legacy and checking out some cool cars, the show is definitely worth checking out this Saturday in Gardena.

“We feel that the best way to honor Carroll Shelby is to continue his legacy with exciting cars and events for the enthusiasts whom he loved so much,” said Neil Cummings, Co-CEO of Carroll Shelby International, CEO of Carroll Shelby Licensing and Co-President of the Carroll Shelby Foundation. “On the fifth anniversary of his passing, we’ll recreate the remarkable celebration of Carroll’s life held at the Petersen Museum in 2012 with a special retrospective. It will be an incredibly uplifting day filled with many of the things Carroll loved most.”

The show will celebrate Carroll’s legacy along with the birthday of the Shelby GT500. There will also be celebrity appearances, book signings and the Carroll Shelby Foundation game room with racing simulators and tricycle autocrossing.

“Carroll Shelby enjoyed life more than anyone I’ve ever known,” said Aaron Shelby, Board Member of Carroll Shelby International and Co-President of the Carroll Shelby Foundation. “In his honor, we added several remarkable new activities to the event that will give people an opportunity to revel in that sense of abandon that energized my grandfather. With the Carroll Shelby Foundation and Team Shelby managing these activities, the day will be thrilling for everyone.”

The show is free for spectators, but if you are attending, make sure you are the for the Rev Your Engine salute at 1 p.m. For more on the Carroll Shelby Tribute and Car Show you can visit the official site right here.
