The rumors are true. Ford will auction the first production 2019 Bullitt Mustang at Barrett-Jackson in Scottsdale, Arizona. The proceeds of the auction will benefit Boy Republic, a charity that helps at-risk teens that was supported by Steve McQueen himself.

Earlier this month a mysterious Barrett-Jackson listing went viral. It appeared the listing indicated that a Bullitt Mustang would cross the block in Scottsdale, Arizona. As it turned out, the speculation proved true. The first production 2019 Mustang Bullitt will be up for sale this weekend.
“We have a spectacular docket this week, and our charity cars are just a small sample of the incredible cars that will cross the block on Saturday,” said Steve Davis, president of Barrett-Jackson. “We are excited to sell the newly unveiled 2019 Ford Mustang Bullitt (Lot #3006) for charity on Friday, which will lead us into one of our best ‘Super Saturdays’ ever on the auction block.”
If you aren’t up to speed on the new Bullitt, be sure to check out our coverage here, but the basics are that the car is a Performance Pack Level 1 Mustang adorned with numerous movie-car styling cues and a horsepower boost courtesy of a Shelby GT350 intake manifold and supporting upgrades.
“Ford Motor Company and the McQueen estate are donating VIN 001 of the new limited-edition 2019 Mustang Bullitt for a special charity auction benefitting Boys Republic, Steve McQueen’s own school. The Bullitt features a V8 engine that packs more than 475hp and 420 lb-ft of torque to push the car to 163 mph max speed,” says the listing.
