Video: 1,000HP, Twin-Turbo, Stock-Bottom-End Coyote Ride Along

It’s a pretty crazy time we live in for automotive enthusiasts these days. We have cars leaving the factory that are capable of running mid 9s in the quarter-mile, yet can still drive them across the country blasting the air conditioning the whole way. Furthermore, we have cars like the S550 generation Mustang, which can be modified to the tun of nearly 900 horsepower at the rear wheels on a stock bottom end 5.0-liter engine.

That’s the magic of the Coyote engine, and a little (or should we say a lot) more room to breathe, thanks to a Hellion Power Systems twin-turbo kit. And, lucky enough for you, our friends over at That Racing Channel enjoyed the privilege of riding shotgun in this 1,000-plus crank horsepower beast.

In the video above, the owner provides some further context on the car – exclaiming that his 2015 Mustang GT now sports a Tremec TR-6060 six-speed manual transmission after grenading third gear in the original Getrag MT-82 unit. The new transmission setup is paired to a McLeod Racing twin disc clutch assembly as well.

While the owner says that this car was originally built to compete in the twisties, after seeing more than 600 horsepower at the rear wheels on only 6 PSI of boost, laughed that his dream might be a thing of the past. Of course, having those wide, meaty Toyo R888 tires on the rear only helps this Coyote plant all 880-plus rear-wheel horsepower down. The icing on the cake however? The owner says, this is his daily driver, and we absolutely love it.
