Teens Steal Toyota, End Up Atop Mustang

Many of us have come to rely on coffee as a means of fully waking up and taking on the day, but for one Florida resident, that bitter bean brew turned out to be more trouble than it was worth. After realizing he had left his coffee inside, a citizen of St. Petersburg ran back inside to retrieve his vital morning fluids, only to see his Toyota Camry taking off down the road without him.

As WJTV reports, the Camry’s owner had left his car running while retrieving his forgotten brew, and three teenagers took advantage of his absence to steal the hapless Toyota. As you can tell from the pictures though, the teens didn’t make it far before driving over an innocent New Edge Mustang parked on the side of the road.

It’s the worst kind of car-on-car crime, a senseless destruction of property for little more than a good laugh. The teens, two age 15 and the third age 16, only made it a single block before running over the Mustang, almost certainly due to their inexperience behind the wheel. The teens abandoned their ill-gotten automobile, but a nearby police officer alerted to the theft quickly apprehended them.

Cars being stolen out of driveways is nothing new, and neither is teenage shenanigans. The most amazing aspect of this story though is that despite the sheer stupidity of those involved, nobody was hurt, and the Toyota at least should be roadworthy once again after extensive repairs. The Mustang probably won’t be as lucky, however, and for a joyride that lasted less than a block.
