The automotive world has a pretty short memory, and today’s champion is yesterday’s old news by the time the next season comes around. So the names that do stick around, like Shelby, Saleen, and Tasca, have really risen above the rest. Jack Roush of Roush Performance has been in the game a long time, and his name has become synonymous with racing and performance Mustangs in the past couple of decades. The man literally eats, sleeps, and breathes race cars. So that leaves us wonder, what does a man like Jack Roush drive?

Well Roush sent out these pictures of Jack’s personal ride, a Premier Edition 2013 RS3 Mustang posing next to the airplane that helped defeat Hitler, the P-51 Mustang. It must be a surreal feeling to drive a car with your name attached to it, don’t you think?

As you might imagine, Jack Roush’s personal is loaded to the hilt with every available option, including a RoushCharger supercharger system cranking out 624 horsepower. The luxurious leather interior, ground effects kit, spoiler, big wheels, so on and so forth is everything you’d expect from a Roush RS3 Mustang. Jack even had his 2013 RS3 painted to match a 1969 Boss 429 Mustang that he also owns, though the graphics are a nod to another vehicle in his collection.

As far as the P-51 Mustang goes, well it is nicknamed “Gentleman Jim”, and is an actual survivor from World War II. The P-51 Mustang helped the Allies dominate the air over Hitler’s Fortress Europe, and though Ford emblazoned its pony car with a running horse, many veterans knew it was also a nod towards one of the greatest war planes ever built. Roush owns a P-51 Mustang himself, nicknamed “Old Crow”, which is what the graphics on his RS3 Mustang are supposed to emulate.

It’s a pretty cool set of pictures, bringing together two different eras of mechanical innovation. Which would you want to drive first?
