Breaking News: 2020 Ford Shelby GT500 Pricing Announced

We’ve obtained MSRP pricing list for the 2020 Shelby GT500 and GT350 including options and accessories. Ford has confirmed the document shared by Mustang6g is legitimate and that sticker pricing for the 2020 Shelby GT500 is set at $73,995 with $1,095 destination fee and $2,600 gas guzzler tax.

News of the GT500’s pricing follows the announcement made last week that the car will produce 760 horsepower and 625 lb.-ft. of torque. Ford disclosed the horsepower and torque ratings are based on the use of premium fuel per SAE J1349 standard.

The 2020 Ford Shelby GT500 features a supercharged 5.2-liter aluminum alloy engine built by hand, topped with a 2.65-liter roots-type supercharger. Power is delivered through a Tremec 7-speed dual-clutch transmission.

To harness the power and torque, the Shelby GT500 takes advantage of the revised suspension geometry, a new electronic power steering unit, and lighter-weight coil springs front and rear. The car also receives the latest generation of Ford’s active MagneRide suspension along with the most advanced drive mode technologies from Ford Performance. The result is the highest-ever lateral acceleration from a Mustang for greater track performance and driver control.

Two handling packages are available on the GT500: the standard Handling Package, and for the truly hardcore, an available Carbon Fiber Track Package.

The standard handling package includes adjustable strut top mounts and spoiler with Gurney flap. Meanwhile, the Carbon Fiber Track Package features exposed 20-inch carbon fiber wheels with 0.5-inch-wider rear wheels (11.5-inch), custom Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires, adjustable exposed carbon fiber GT4 track wing and splitter wickers with integrated dive plane and the rear seat is deleted to reduce weight.

To put Ford’s pricing in perspective, the current model year Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat Redeye, rated with 797 horsepower, has a starting MSRP of $70,245, or $76,245 for the widebody version. Meanwhile, Chevrolet offers the 2019 Corvette ZR1, rated with 755 horsepower, with MSRP starting at $123,000 and $62,000 for the 2019 Camaro ZL1, rated with 650 horsepower.

Today, the GT500 legacy continues with the third-generation 2020 Mustang Shelby GT500 – Ford’s most powerful and most advanced Mustang ever.
