There is no doubt in anybody’s mind that the 2011 Mustang GT, with the all-new 5.0 liter V8 engine is one hell of a car. From the factory it is capable of running down the quarter mile in around 12.5 seconds, thanks to its 412 horsepower and 390 ft-lbs of torque. The aftermarket has wasted no time making a bevy of power-adding parts, and we’ve already seen the 2011 hit 8’s thanks to superchargers and other power adders. But what if you can’t afford all of that fancy custom work?

Well worry not. This video from Steeda shows that with just their cold air intake and tuning, your 2011 Mustang GT can run the quarter mile in 11’s as well.

From the factory the 2011 Mustang GT is no slouch, and a bevy of performance options are available straight from the Ford. This particular car in the video had 3:73 gears installed at the factory, running a stock exhaust system and everything else. The only non-stock features was the Nitto 275/40/17 Drag Radials and the Steeda cold air intake and tune.

The tuning provided better throttle response as well as a slightly increased RPM range to squeeze every hidden horsepower out of the engine while the Steeda intake reduces restriction found from the stock filter and piping design. With just the tune and CAI, Steeda managed to get an extra 44 horsepower and 52 ft-lbs of torque out of the otherwise-soick 5.0 engine, spread out across the entire RPM range. Steeda’s Director of of Manufacturing, Scott Boda, drove this lightly modified Mustang to an 11.96 @ 115 mph. Simply amazing, and for very little investment too. Is there anything the 2011 Mustang GT can’t do?
